PR Account Manager in Viola Communications

Key Responsibilities
• Continuously pursue up-selling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of client's business and industry.
• Maintain regular client contact and prospect information.
• Manage multiple projects for various clients from concept to completion on time and budget.
• Develop long-term plans and program recommendations for clients.
• Provide client counsel on tactical matters linked to strategic plans.
• Generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success.
• Direct client editorial calendar programs.
• Develop client presentations.
• Proactively pursue new clients and expand existing client base.
• Generate ideas for media outreach and pitch efforts.
• Implement special public relations events such as press conferences, roundtables etc.
• Develop and qualify media lists as needed.
• Develop proposals, releases, customer profiles, by-lined articles and other press materials.
• Account for quality control and final review of all client materials.
• Contribute to work plans of junior team members.
• Ensure quality work from the team in order to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Provide client counsel on tactical matters, linked to strategic pr plans including positioning and messaging.
• Multitask across multiple client accounts and projects under deadline.
• Ensure that key milestones and projects are on track, within set timelines and on budget.
• Develop and nurture media relationships with trade and business media.
• Analyze complex briefs and distil them into simple, engaging content.
• Manage client issues with the support of junior and senior staff if needed.
• Supervise and mentor entry to mid-level team members.
• Work with Account Director to manage client budgets and staffing.
• Work with representatives from other viola divisions to ascertain smooth implementation of shared accounts.
• Attend account reviews and staff meetings - provide ongoing communications and feedback.
• Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business pitches and initiatives.
• Serve as a primary client contact with the ability to manage multiple client account programs and teams delivering strategic value.
• Plan, develop and advise clients on integrated and measurable PR programs.
• Identify business opportunities and maximize Client’s growth potential.
• Develop and conduct client presentations.
• Monitor, collate and analyze media coverage.
• Prepare regular client reports such as monthly and quarterly reports and weekly status reports.
• Actively participate in agency development and assist with new business.
• Identify new business opportunities and maximize client’s growth potential through highly polished pitches, detailed research and targeted networking.
• Delegate work to interns and Account Executives (as needed)
• Perform various administrative tasks as assigned.
• Produce weekly activity reports for projects they are working on.
• Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires and blogs etc, in order to identify opportunities for clients.
• Write press kit documents as well as news releases and pitch letters or emails or other content within the client’s scope of work.
• Proof and edit client-related documents as needed.
