Key Responsibilities

The Associate Producer is responsible for producing scheduled and breaking-news related outside broadcasts and booking influential guests for CNBC’s Middle East operations. The role is preferable for candidates with a proven track record of field production and guest booking, extensive knowledge of business news and substantial experience coordinating logistics outside of the studio.

Requirements


• Planning, coordinating and executing all logistical aspects of fieldwork.
• Work with Satellite Operations desk on scheduled events.
• Source facilities and footage from third-party providers.
• Lead in-the-field producer for CNBC Middle East outside broadcasts.
• Build a reliable contacts database of influential guests in the region.
• Researching topics and summarizing findings for producers & presenters.
• Work with Satellite Operations desk to ensure quick, cost-effective and flexible response to breaking news.
• Book relevant, high-level CEOs, analysts and other guests both in-studio and on-location.
• Write packages, prepare on-air presenters for live hits and interviews.
• Sourcing appropriate location for live/tape shots (including permissions, tech considerations etc.)
• Supporting live show producers in a breaking news environment.
• Create and implement best practice guide field production.
• Identify multiple editorial angles of an event or story.


Skills

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience within a leading international news organization.
• Previous experience in TV News Production and monitoring, selecting and delivering breaking news.
• Specific experience in producing outside broadcasts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong technical skills, with specific experience of satellite bookings, liveU operations.
• Strong understanding of the role of social media in news broadcasting and multi-platform delivery.
• Fluency in English and Arabic preferred.Additional languages would be beneficial.
• Capable of handling short deadlines and work in a fast-paced and demanding live news environment.
• Excellent knowledge of business, economics, and financial markets.
• A clear understanding of CNBC’s editorial and programming priorities.
• A full driving licence would be beneficial.
