Key Responsibilities

The role of the Content Editor is editing, updating, proofreading, and creating various copy for user guides, scripts, emails, web pages etc that are usually of a time sensitive time need and, or technical nature. The function of the Content Editor is to ensure consistency of quality, style, and also overseeing and managing the voice quality of the content produced by the agency on behalf of the brand.

The Content Editor is responsible for the final revisions of all collateral content released by the agency as a result they must have exceptional writing and editorial skills that assist in the creation of consistent and professional messages in consumer targeted communications inclusive of website pages, blog posts, eBooks, and other publications.

The Content Editor is detail-oriented, highly organised and self-sufficient, being able to handle high-quality editing of both online and offline marketing content. The Content Editor must possess good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all the team members throughout the team and wider agency.

Job Responsibilities:

Translate and adapt content into Arabic such as SMSs, emails, web pages, calling scripts, IVRs, user guides, FAQs, video scripts, brochures, flyers, posters… etc
Validate and proofread Arabic content which is already done by the client.
Check names of products, companies, services, personalities, and titles online and on other resources, such as dictionaries and technical guides, for accuracy and consistency.
Develop and maintain an up-to-date terminology guide.
Write social media ads in Arabic from scratch.
Write digital content that includes Facebook applications, contests, mobile apps and others.
Check layouts for mistakes and consistency with ATL.
Attend and supervise recordings.
Copywrite when necessary.
Make sure the client’s writing tones are maintained.
Brainstorm and develop names for products and services.

Skills

Arabic and English literate is a mandatory requirement
Impeccable knowledge and understanding of the Arabic language, with the ability to articulate orally and in the written form to a high level.
As much as the Content Editor should be able to perform autonomously, the position is not entirely independent. The Content Editor works collaboratively with stakeholders within the team and wider agency, and sees the content through all phases of production; ensuring that it constantly matches the brand’s messages, needs, and goals.
Fresh graduate up to 2 years of experience
Degree or Masters level in any field, most desired and applicable to the role is Arabic and or English Language and Literature, Journalism, Translating and Interpreting, and Mass Communication.
Previous experience in arts or cultural or journalistic activities is a plus.
Preferred with a portfolio of above mentioned or written subject (essays/ads/articles/ books) that clearly demonstrates his/her mastering of the language in a creative way.
