Filmmakers from the UAE are invited to compete to make short films in only 48 hours. The deadline for regular registrations for the annual competition is October 31, 2017. The competition will take place over two days, between November 9-11, 2017.

The competition, which spans more than 130 cities worldwide, gives participants a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of to use.

The winner from Dubai will compete at the 2018 Filmapalooza Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. The winning 12 titles will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner in 2018. Locally, a judging panel will choose the best films from the Dubai competition to screen at the  Dubai International Film Festival.
