Mashable: Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed wishes India on milestone Moon landing during a call

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates recently spoke on a call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Thursday, August 24, 2023, the UAE president congratulated the Indian Prime Minister on the successful landing of the Indian spacecraft Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon.

According to Khaleej Times, during a phone call, Sheikh Mohamed extended his congratulations to India and its people for the scientific achievement on Thursday. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed emphasises that the historic milestone signifies the advancements the country has made in the field of science and technology.

The President of the United Arab Emirates also highlighted that the moment represents a notable leap for the South Asian nation’s scientific progress which plays a major role in advancing prospects for humanity and expressed his wishes for continued success in all fields, majorly in the space sector.

The state news agency WAM reported that the UAE President also offered appreciation and thanks for the approval of BRICS leaders for the Emirate’s membership in the group.

Sheikh Mohammed took to X, formerly known as Twitter and shared his appreciation for the inclusion of the UAE in the important group.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to his X account and wrote that he was “glad to speak” with the President of the UAE.

Now, the Emirates is one of six countries to form a part of BRICS besides Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and Argentina. Meanwhile, BRICS is an acronym for the founding members of the group which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
