The annual Culture Summit Abu Dhabi, which brings together leaders from the worlds of art, history, museums, media, and technology, has been postponed due to the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday.

As reported by The National, the Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi said that new dates for the event, which had been scheduled to take place from Monday to Wednesday in Manarat Al Saadiyat, will be announced soon.

The theme of this year's Abu Dhabi Culture Summit is ‘A Living Culture’.

Trevor Noah, the anchor of The Daily Show, was one of the guest speakers set to appear on the first day of the festival on Monday.

Mashable: The South African comedian is well-known in the UAE, and been a guest at events in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. He most recently hosted the Grammy Awards last month, but he is likely best recognised for his political commentary segments on The Daily Show.

Other attendees include Malawi's first female president, Joyce Banda, famous architect Frank Gehry, UAE Minister of Culture and Youth Noura Al Kaabi, and DCT Abu Dhabi Chairman Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak.

Polish artist Agnieszka Kurant, whose installations have been shown in prestigious venues such as New York's Solomon R Guggenheim Museum and last year's Venice Biennale 12th International Architecture Exhibition, will also be present, along with Grammy Award-winning Panamanian pianist and educator Danilo Perez, who will lead a discussion on cultural diversity and music education.

Some of the topics to be covered include the rise of digital content during the pandemic, as well as how the cultural and creative sectors may play a more significant role in supporting and encouraging inclusiveness in a globalised society.
