The 5th edition of the decoration, design and building materials exhibition 'DecoBuild 2021' began today Wednesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together major Engineering and consulting companies and contractors as well as workers in the field of building materials, decoration, interior finishes, and furniture.
DecoBuild is the largest event of its kind in the UAE that aims to support the beneficiaries of housing support programs and services.
The four-day event is organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) and runs from November 24th to 27th.
This year's edition sees the largest participation ever since the inception of the exhibition in 2017, with more than 80 exhibitors from government institutions and private sector companies, as well as construction materials, contracting, decoration, engineering consultancy, interior and architectural design companies, in addition to banks and financial institutions, furniture companies, lighting, and smart home services.
Decobuild 2021 is sponsored by a group of government bodies and entities, including; Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Department of Housing and the Society of Engineers.
Supported by the Dubai Chamber, DecoBuild 2021's Media sponsors are Dubai Media Incorporated and Abu Dhabi Media, while the strategic partners are Algedra Group of companies for interior design, Alayoubi Technologies, and Casa Di Lusso.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment said that the event aims to achieve the Establishment's mission and objectives of ensuring the happiness of citizens and improving their quality of life by implementing innovative, diversified and accessible housing solutions so as to achieve a balance between high quality and sustainability.
DecoBuild exhibition also comes in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who recently approved the allocation of AED65 billion to an Emirati housing programme in Dubai. The budget will be spent over the next two decades to provide quality housing for Emiratis.
This is to further underpin the ongoing efforts to enhance the development and urban model of the Emirate of Dubai, in a way that provides a decent life for citizens and cements Dubai's leading position as the best city for living in the world.
The MRHE further added that Decobuild, which annually brings together thousands of visitors and exhibitors under one roof, provides a perfect platform to learn about the latest information and products related to all aspects of the innovative and world-class construction and decoration industry.
The event is featuring major companies and entities concerned with the housing construction and furnishing sector of innovative materials, solutions and systems, housing maintenance, expansion and beautification, as well as energy and water-saving technologies and products, and smart home services.
In addition to offering a variety of options construction solutions for contractors, real estate developers and project owners, DecoBuild 2021 provides an opportunity to the Who’s Who of the construction sector and visitors to get acquainted with the latest innovations, building and construction materials, technologies and equipment, interior finishing and decoration materials, civil and mechanical engineering techniques, stone, marble, ceramics, bathrooms, porcelain and tiles, security and safety systems, in addition to environmentally friendly construction solutions and others.
Moreover, the event provides unparalleled opportunities for networking and making rewarding deals in the sectors of construction, interior design, and real estate, as it attracts hundreds of manufacturers and suppliers from inside and outside the country and provides the opportunity to meet with engineers, traders, specialists, and businessmen.

The construction sector is one of the vital sectors in the country’s economy, where the total market value in 2020 amounted to about 372.62 billion dirhams.
Economic analyses signal that this sector has reached an advanced stage of maturity in the country, and its value is expected to reach AED 490.45 billion by 2026, an annual increase of 4.69% during the period between 2021-2026.
The exhibition opens its doors from Wednesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 9 pm, except on Friday from 2:00 pm to 10 pm.
