Mashable: Dubai has recorded one of the world’s highest hotel occupancy rates

Dubai has added another feat to its list of achievements.

The world’s best holiday destination, Dubai received 14.36 million international visitors in the year 2022.

The emirate has managed to reach close to the tally of its pre-pandemic visitation of 16.73 million in 2019.

As per Khaleej Times, the latest data published by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) reads that the Emirate has doubled the number of international visitors it welcomed in 2022 compared to 2019.

Dubai recorded a total of 14.36 million visitors in the year 2022. The Emirate also saw a growth of 97 percent year on year from the 7.28 million tourist arrivals in the year 2021.

With this new achievement, Dubai has closed in on its pre-covid visitation of 16.73 million in 2019.

On February 5, 2023, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, took to his official Twitter account and wrote, “Today, Dubai announced another achievement that adds to its profile as a global frontrunner in economic growth.”

“We received 14.36 million international visitors in 2022, growing 97% from 2021,” he noted, “and registered one of the world’s highest hotel occupancy rates.”

Moreover, the Emirate has also witnessed one of the world’s highest average hotel occupancy rates in 2022 which stood at 73 percent.
