The UAE has reported 13 cases of Monkeypox virus till now

The Dubai Health Authority has issued new isolation rules and regulations for confirmed cases of Monkeypox in the city. The DHA has shared the guidelines on Twitter.

These guidelines consist of all the rules, procedures, and precautionary measures that should be followed by all the confirmed cases of monkeypox as well as the close contacts.

As per Dubai Health Authority, if a person has clinical symptoms and if the tests come positive in the laboratory, then only that person will be called a confirmed case.

PCR throat swab is the approved test to detect the monkeypox virus, but health officials can alternatively use the dry swab to scrape the skin to get vesicle fluid.

Thirteen cases of the zoonotic viral disease have been registered in the UAE so far.

Every person who is experiencing the monkeypox symptom must isolate separately until they are provided with positive PCR results from the health officials.

As per the guidelines, after the test results come back positive, the DHA will contact the patient for complete isolation procedures.

If the patient continues to feel bad and the symptoms worsen, then the patient should immediately head to the nearest medical facility.

Patients must remain in isolation for a period of 21 days at home or at the isolation institution.

The Dubai Health Authority has also included home isolation criteria. For home isolation, the patient must an adult and must be in a stable condition.

The isolation period will end after full recovery and disappearance of skin lesions and after 21 days.
