Mashable: A video of the girl crying for her dead mare recently went viral

The Dubai ruler recently gifted a young jokey a herd of horses.

According to Khaleej Times, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented an 8-year-old jockey from Iraq a herd of horses after a heartbreaking video of her crying over her dead mare went viral.

On Monday, July 24, 2023, the official Twitter account of Emirates News Agency (WAM) shared a video of Lania Fakher, a young girl from Iraq.

The video sees the young jockey crying over the death of her mare and friend, named “Jasno”. The video went viral on social media in no time, generating widespread sympathy for the 8-year-old jockey.

The girl is reportedly the youngest jockey in Iraq. In the now-viral video, Lania Fakher is seen crying after her one and only horse passed away. Her father reportedly gifted her the horse when she was only 5 years old.

In the video, the young jockey revealed that her only horse and close friend had recently fallen ill. The girl also revealed that she tried her best to care for her mare even after the doctor advised everyone to keep a distance. However, the horse eventually passed away.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed not only gifted Lania Fakher a herd of horses but also ordered a training centre to be built.

The news outlet also reveals that the young girl carries apples and sugar to her horse’s grave. Lania Fakher also dreams of having her own special equestrian place to develop her own skills and help train young people in Kurdistan.
