Mashable: As the weather improves for both residents and visitors, the UAE is expected to see an increase in inbound passenger traffic this winter.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) continued to be the busiest airport in the world for international passengers in October, according to the aviation consultancy OAG.

According to data released by OAG in early November 2022, DXB has also maintained its position as the second busiest "global airport" in the world, measuring both domestic and international airline capacity.

The half-term break is said to be a major contributing factor to the whopping figures, which reached 2.1 million passengers to and from the UAE hub. It is estimated that DXB handled an average of 215,000 passengers per day in October. And in the upcoming weeks and months, it might become much busier.

As the weather improves for both residents and visitors, the UAE is expected to see an increase in inbound passenger traffic this winter. Many football fans headed to Doha for the FIFA World Cup 2022 would also be hosted in the city.

Last month, DXB stated that it might experience a rebound to pre-pandemic monthly passenger traffic in the second half of next year.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, says that 62.4 million passengers will pass through the airport this year, which would be around 7% more than the organization's most recent prediction.

The second half of this year is predicted to see an average of 5.6 million passengers every month.

In the first half of 2022, there were 27.9 million passenger screenings, up from 10.6 million in the previous period.

On a list of the busiest international travel hubs, the airport surpassed London Heathrow, Amsterdam, and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Madrid jumped from 14 to 10, Doha from 13 to 8, and London Gatwick from 16 to 9.
