Mashable: The private sector in the Kingdom will have four days holiday.

Saudi Arabia has declared a four-day holiday for the private sector and non-profit organizations to celebrate the Eid Al-Fitr in April 2023. The holiday will begin on April 20, after the end of the working day on Thursday. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development took to Twitter to make the announcement.

The moon-sighting committees around the Gulf have also marked the start of Ramadan, with many countries implementing shortened working hours for the month.

In the U.A.E., employees have enjoyed a three-day weekend during Ramadan, as they work only four days a week, following an official announcement by the government. Reduced working hours have been adopted to allow employees to focus on religious and personal activities during the month of Ramadan.

Despite the anticipated increase in airfares of 10 to 15 per cent over Eid, nearly 65 percent of people are looking to travel internationally, according to online travel agency Musafir.com (via Arabian Business). This marks a significant increase in the number of U.A.E. travellers seeking to venture abroad compared to last year. Around 65 percent of these travellers are seeking leisure travel, while the remaining 35 per cent are opting to celebrate with their loved ones, either in their home countries or nearby.

Furthermore, employees will also have another extended holiday later this year, as Eid al-Adha will be celebrated for four days at the end of June, according to labor law executive regulations.
