Social Media giant Facebook is all set to help countries across the world to conduct fair and free elections. A team of Facebook officials is working hard ahead of the Pakistani General elections which are slated for July 25. The idea behind giving training to the Election Commission of Pakistan is to help the officials with a fair and allegation free election. Facebook has increased the number of people for this purpose to ensure safety and security

A Facebook spokesperson in the country was quoted as saying that Facebook wanted to “ensure the integrity of elections” in Pakistan and other countries across the world. He further said that Facebook was working closely with the Election Commission of Pakistan to “understand specific challenges” and ensuring “transparency”. Facebook had earlier announced an expansion plan for its fact-checking program to check the fake news issues. The company had also issued strict guidelines for political advertisements in their platform. This decision was due to the controversy the company had faced during the US presidential elections over the data breach. Facebook had demanded a paid for by disclosure at the top of the political advertisements.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had promised a detailed investigation into every app that has data of its users. As many as 200 apps were suspended for failing to comply with the policy. The investigation and audit were conducted on apps that had access to information and has helped to check information leakage drastically.
