Mashable: Musk and Ant Group CEO Eric Jing Xiandong both contributed to the July edition of China Cyberspace.

According to reports, Elon Musk advocated his visions for renewable energy, brain implants, and space travel in an essay published in a Chinese magazine produced by the country's Internet oversight and censorship agency.

According to a Xinhua reporter, Musk and Ant Group CEO Eric Jing Xiandong both contributed to the July edition of China Cyberspace. Ant Group is responsible for the Alipay payment service in China.

After claiming that he was asked to provide his "thoughts on the vision of technology and humanity," Musk goes on to detail and promote the technologies utilized by his firms (Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink) that he thinks may "help create a brighter future for mankind."

He also used some of his more ambitious plans, such as a "self-sustaining metropolis on Mars," "integration with artificial intelligence," and "permanent battery banks," as examples of the kinds of technologies his firms may (eventually) develop.

Musk also alluded to the unreleased humanoid Tesla Bot and said that individuals may be able to give a robot as a present in "less than a decade."

Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) was established in 2013 and is responsible for establishing and implementing regulations on the content of websites, the privacy of users, and the safety of China's digital infrastructure. Stella Chen, the senior researcher for the China Media Project, said that the CAC's journal often features regulatory pronouncements and studies on internet policy.
