As one of the biggest football matches in the world approaches, fans gear up in excitement to be a part of the game. While many would be enjoying the game in front of their screens, the ones heading to the stadium have a clause to adhere to –complete vaccination.
Qatar –where the matches are taking place for the season, has confirmed that every fan heading to watch the game need to be fully vaccinated. While restrictions have eased in the region, a complete vaccination is a must to be a part of the game, the authorities agreed.
The news was confirmed by the HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani in a recently held interview. The move has been initiated to ‘protect the public health of citizens and residents.’
Not just that, Qatar is also making arrangements for the fans to get the vaccine for the World Cup. The ones who haven’t been vaccinated, they’re supplying one million doses to fans flying in for the games.
The month-long tournament which is set to take place in November next year will see 32 teams from around the world compete for the trophy.
With all the teams in full preparation, the UAE are currently in the middle of their qualifying tournament. The team is through to the third and final round of qualification with the next round of matches starting in September and that will run until March next year.
