Mashable: Ye is beyond saving now.

Cracks in Ye’s (formally known as Kanye West) ‘genius’ status have become more pronounced after his comment about Adolf Hilter. The star, during his talk, ‘praised Adolf Hitler’ and said ‘he saw “good things”’, reports Huff Post. In recent months, some of Ye’s fans have been supporting him, despite his anti-sematic comments. However, there were a few who felt that it was the “final nail in the coffin,” leading to creative pushback on social media.

Once the comment was made, r/Kanye, a Reddit page with 7,00,000 members dedicated to the singer’s songs, fashion, and achievements, began spreading awareness about the Holocaust. The Washington Post reports that fans spontaneously showed their unwavering support to Jew survivors, with many people coming forward with historical documents and sharing movies on the dreadful moment to challenge Ye’s comment about the Holocaust being fake. Even survivors' families, who managed to narrowly escape the concentration camps, began to speak about trauma their families went through. Along with Reddit, some people on Twitter also began to speak up about the Holocaust.

“As a Jew and an early Kanye fan,” one Redditor said, “I never looked in this sub[reddit] until this morning and I saw all the holocaust remembrance posts. I’m in … tears right now. Thank you for standing up for us.” In addition to survivors' families speaking about their ancestor’s struggles,

Another set of users decided to part ways with Ye in an interesting way: by sharing memes about Taylor Swift, whose speech he interrupted during the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009.

While fandoms are known to be toxic, this move portrays that some fans have a sliver of humanity and consciousness left. They see Ye, their idol, as a highly flawed human being, shattering all the love and fascination they had for him.

If you have ever wondered what you would have done if faced with the holocaust, you are doing it now.

Silence is complicity.

Instead of amplifying Kanye’s hateful rhetoric, follow @AuschwitzMuseum. Their work allows us to honor the memories of #Holocaust victims & learn about the role ordinary citizens played in supporting evil. Prevention requires the active practice of bearing witness. #NeverAgain
