According to a report, Sony has provided IGN with a statement in which it states that it will cease all software and hardware sales in Russia as a result of the country's recent and ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

The statement states, "Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) joins the global community in calling for peace in Ukraine." "We've suspended all software and hardware shipments, as well as the launch of Gran Turismo 7 and PlayStation Store operations in Russia. Sony Group Corporation announced a US$2 million commitment to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the international non-governmental organization Save the Children to help the victims of this catastrophe."

The Japanese tech giant joins an increasing number of other video game companies in condemning the invasion and stopping sales to Russia and, in certain cases, its neighboring ally Belarus. A number of other companies, including Epic Games and CD Projekt Red, as well as EA, Microsoft, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, and others, have announced similar suspensions in the previous week. Because of the conflict, Nintendo has also postponed the release of Advanced Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.

In the same vein, organizations frequently have announced donations and various types of support and assistance. Indie game marketplace Itch.io includes a massive bundle of roughly 1,000 games which is available for a minimum payment of $10. It has already garnered nearly $3 million in donations. Many other game corporations have issued statements, shared resources, and made donations. Some examples are below.
