Mashable: Sharjah will mark the occasion of Prophet's birthday with a 4-day weekend
Sharjah has announced an additional paid holiday for Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (PBUH).
The Sharjah government has announced that public-sector employees will get an additional day off to mark the occasion of the Prophet's birthday.
On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, the Human Resources Department of the Government of Sharjah declared that public-sector employees will get a 4-day weekend to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed starting from Thursday, September 28, 2023.
September 28, 2023, will be the official paid holiday for all departments, bodies, and institutions that fall under the Government of Sharjah, meaning Sharjah government employees will enjoy a four-day holiday as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are already considered the regular off-days in the city of United Arab Emirates.
As per the announcement, the Prophet’s Birthday holiday will begin on Thursday, September 28, 2023, and the official work will resume on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Meanwhile, the private sector employees will get the holiday from Friday, September 29, 2023, to Sunday, October 1, 2023.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that the public and private sector employees in the United Arab Emirates will get a paid holiday on Friday, September 29, 2023.
However, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) falls on September 27, 2023, this year, the holiday to mark the occasion has been clubbed with the weekend in the United Arab Emirates.
This would also be the last long weekend in the Emirates, as the National Day holidays will fall on December 2 and 3 which is Saturday and Sunday.
