The UAE is celebrating its golden year, and the country is gearing up to mark its Golden Jubilee with a special four-day weekend in honour of the 50th anniversary.

The official ceremony marking the 50th UAE National Day will take place on December 2 at 5.30 PM featuring a fascinating journey through the land’s history, present and future through creative storytelling. Viewers will be able to see the special show on all local TV channels and also on the UAE National Day official website.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, celebrated the decision. “National Day Celebrations, a representation of our culture and identity from all parts of our country,” he said on Twitter, as he posted a video of the announcement.

Equidistant from all seven emirates, Hatta is a remarkable historical location and an upcoming vibrant and exciting tourist destination boasting of breath-taking natural wonders and a scenic landscape featuring lakes, dams, and valleys full of historical monuments. The 3,000-year-old town once served as a trading route, connecting everyone while in more recent times.

 

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, also took to Twitter and said, “Our Official 50th National Day Celebration will be set this year in Hatta. Across the nation we continue to pursue our ambitions with optimism, confidence, and a steadfast determination, building on our strong foundations to create a promising future for the next 50 years.”

Last month only Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid revealed a comprehensive development plan for the town and shared that Hatta will be transformed into an attractive local and international destination for business, investment and tourism, the plan will create a roadmap for enhancing infrastructure and implementing a series of development projects.
