Turner Announces Key Programming Highlights For 2017

Turner, a Time Warner company, has announced significant programming highlights from its 2017 lineup across the different broadcast segments it caters to – including an expanded general entertainment portfolio to add to its children’s entertainment and news offering, a statement said. The lineup was revealed at the company’s annual upfront event, held recently at the Waldorf Astoria, Dubai Palm Jumeirah.

Vice President and General Manager of Turner for Turkey, Middle East, North Africa, Greece & Cyprus, Tarek Mounir said, “Turner is continually striving to enhance its programming and entertainment offering region-wide. Our key objective has always been to provide high-quality entertainment to audiences in the region, and our successful presence across MENA as well as our exciting upcoming slate is a great testament to that.”

General Entertainment

As part of the general entertainment segment, Turner has a vast offering of channels to choose from – TNT, TBS, TruTV and Adult Swim. Content aired on these channels are available for syndication across the region. In 2017, the region will welcome shows including Good Behavior, Will, 4 Blocks, Search Party, Those Who Can’t, Rick & Morty, and Robot Chicken.

Children’s Entertainment

Turner is currently home to four children’s entertainment channels in the region – Cartoon Network, Cartoon Network Arabic, Cartoon Network Hindi and Boomerang. Two exciting, new soon-to-be-announced shows will air on Boomerang in 2017 in addition to classic hits from Warner Bros. which include The Tom and Jerry Show, Looney Tunes, Be Cool Scooby Doo, Inspector Gadget and Mr. Bean – The Animated Series.

Season three of the hit Arabic animated series, Mansour will also be launching on Cartoon Network Arabic in 2017. Additionally, official show merchandise is now available across stores in the GCC.

Two new shows will be launched on Cartoon Network, alongside new episodes and seasons of Cartoon Network’s hits Ben10, The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time, and The Amazing World of Gumball, which will air on all Cartoon Network channels across the region.
