The Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi along with his Crew-6 spoke for the very first time after they returned to Earth from Space.
The Crew-6 members splashed down on Earth in the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida, US on Monday, September 4, 2023.
On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, the “Sultan of Space” spoke at his very first media appearance since returning to Earth.
In March 2023, Sultan Al Neyadi with his Crew-6 mates NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev took off for a historic long-duration space mission.
The United Arab Emirates-based astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi and other Crew-6 members Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg talked about their 6-month-long mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday in their very first media appearance following their historic return from space.
The astronauts spoke in an online briefing from Houston, Texas, hosted by the US space agency, NASA.
The Dubai-based Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre took to their official X, formerly Twitter account, and shared various clips of the Crew-6 members recalling their splashdown as well as fun times in space.
Sultan Al Neyadi also talked about his desire to return to space in the future.
The 42-year-old astronaut created history as he became the first Arab to embark on a six-month space mission to the International Space Station (ISS) as well as the first Arab to perform a spacewalk.
Meanwhile, Dr Al Neyadi is set to return to the UAE soon. He will also take part in celebrations which will be held in his honour.
