Mashable: The United Arab Emirates cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi have reportedly ranked among the top five cities to work in the world.
According to The National News, a report by management consultancy Boston Consulting Group states that the UAE cities have been ranked among the top five most popular destinations for professionals to relocate to.
The BCG report finds Dubai in third and Abu Dhabi in fourth place. According to the Dream Destinations and Mobility Trends report that analyzed the work preferences of 150,000 people in 188 countries between October and December, have found that these two cities are the only ones in the Middle East that made it to the top 10.
Meanwhile, London and Amsterdam top the list of cities for such working talent to relocate to. London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom continues to rank as the top global city for professionals to move for work due to the abundance of economic opportunities. Its use of English as the primary language as well as its welcoming atmosphere are some key points, according to a report by BCG.
“People primarily choose a destination based on the quality of job opportunities there, followed by quality of life and factors related to income,” the BCG report stated.
“Personal recommendations from acquaintances who have experience with the destination country also make a difference, particularly where non-English-speaking countries are concerned,” the report revealed, adding, “So does having a diaspora of their nationality in the target destination.”
The report reveals that the US city of New York has secured the fifth position.
“A top-tier salary package matters but factors such as equal employment opportunities for locals and immigrants, and cultural acceptance and belonging are nearly as important as money," the report continued.
