Vice Media is releasing its first feature film in Indonesia through a partnership with ride-sharing company Go-Jek.

The film, titled ‘When we dance’, is directed by Joko Anwar and is scheduled to be released at the end of 2019.

The partnership will also see both companies collaborate on original content including ‘Underdogs’, a sports documentary series that focuses on athletes rising above challenges to achieve greatness. Another series, which will be called ‘Upstarts,’ will focus on people pushing the boundaries of what is possible in Indonesia.

"We are all incredibly excited to be working with Joko Anwar, one of Asia's most-challenging film directors and Go-Jek, with its new push into bold and innovative storytelling, felt like the perfect partner,” said Mo Morris, managing director of Vice Indonesia.

“We are also really excited to continue the ‘Underdogs’ and ‘Upstarts’ series and capture the drama and struggles that Indonesia's athletes go through on their fight to the top.”

Vice has been aggressively extending its footprints in Asia Pacific since launching in the region in November 2017 and in March, it announced the opening of its India office.
