Visitors of Expo 2020 to get free bus services across nine stations in Dubai

While the tickets to the mega event Expo 2020 Dubai may be chargeable, the commute to the event has been made free to the expo visitors.

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA) has announced around 126 public buses – Expo Rider buses that will serve Expo 2020 Dubai visitors for free from nine locations across the emirate.

The bus services will vary from three minutes to one hour and will have nine stations running from locations in the emirate to the Expo 2020 Dubai site.

Apart from the stations, two routes for Expo visitors from hotels directly to the site, as well as services within the site itself from the parking area to the gates, and between each point of entry will also be there.

Six buses will make 54 trips per day from Palm Jumeirah, in both directions from Saturday to Wednesday, and 57 trips in both directions on Thursday and Friday. The service frequency will be 15 minutes.

Seven buses will run 62 trips per day in Al Baraha in directions from Saturday to Wednesday and 68 trips in both directions on Thursday and Friday, running every 30 minutes.

Adjacent to Etisalat Metro Station on the Green Line, Etisalat station will have eight buses making 70 trips daily in both directions from Saturday to Wednesday, and 72 trips in both directions on Thursday and Friday.

Al Ghubaiba will have 12 buses that will make 74 trips in both directions from Saturday to Wednesday, and 76 daily trips in both directions on Thursday and Friday, running every 15 minutes.

Buses will also rum from Global Village and will make 10 trips daily on all weekdays. Services run once per hour.

Eight buses from International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis will make 78 trips daily in both directions from Saturday to Wednesday, and 82 trips in both directions on Thursday and Friday.

Five buses will make 55 trips per day in both directions from Dubai Mall, from Saturday to Wednesday, and 59 trips in both directions on Thursday and Friday with pick up are every half hour.

Buses from the Dubai International Airport will also be there with eight buses completing 52 trips per day in both directions, seven days a week. The frequency will be 20 minutes.

Along with this, the RTA will also provide two additional services to Expo visitors—Expo Parking Shuttle to transport visitors from the car parks to the three Expo Gates (Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability) and Expo People Mover, which will transport visitors between the Expo gates.

The RTA also plans to transport visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai from neighbouring emirates of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, and Ras Al Khaimah. Around 77 buses will make 193 trips per day on all days of the week, and the number of trips will rise to 213 per day on Thursday and Friday during the event.
