Mashable: The United Arab Emirates issues various traffic rules that riders must follow for safety.
Abu Dhabi police have released a video highlighting the dangers of overtaking on UAE roads.
Although the traffic in the Emirate is well managed and the roads are smooth, the police urge its citizens and motorists to follow multiple traffic rules for their own safety and that of others on the roads.
On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, Abu Dhabi police released a video that highlighted dangerous practices surrounding wrong and sudden deviations.
Sharing the video on their official Twitter account, the Abu Dhabi police wrote, “Abu Dhabi Police identifies 7 rules for avoiding “false overtaking” and “sudden swerving” incidents”

Federal traffic laws of the Emirate specify three types of offenses that are related to overtaking. The motorists can be fined Dh600 along with 6 black points for wrong overtaking. Dh1,000 fine and 6 black points are for those who overtake from the road shoulder.
And motorists who overtake from a prohibited place will be fined Dh600.
On Tuesday, the Abu Dhabi Police listed rules that motorists should follow to avoid accidents through the video.
Avoid undertaking other vehicles unintentionally.
In case you want to overtake, make sure the road is free of traffic before moving on to other roads.
Do not overtake other vehicles except on its left.
Do not change lanes without due care and attention and do not put yourself in danger.
Use the indicators when you want to change your lane.
If you intend to change your route make sure you use the correct lane and avoid sudden deviation.
