Abu Dhabi’s famous Mother of the Nation Festival is back in December after two years of pandemic hiatus
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the event pays tribute to family, community, and contributions of women to society, honouring the legacy of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation.
One of the most popular events of Abu Dhabi— The mother of the Nation Festival is back and will be taking place from December 9 to 18, 2021 at the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
While the last two years did not see the festival taking place due to the pandemic, the festival this year will have art installations, musical performances, activations, food outlets, rides and more for people of all ages.
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the event pays tribute to family, community, and contributions of women to society, honouring the legacy of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation.
The event, this season will be divided into six segments, with sub-themes reflected in structures, activities, and installations, including Inspire Space, a picture-perfect spot designed with Instagram in mind, which will house a Dessert Museum, MOTN Funhouse and an area dedicated to cosplayers.
All the action is going to take place at the Thrill Zone wherein there will be a skate and parkour park, horror rooms, a VR gaming hub, Rick and Morty-themed laser tag, a Jeep track and more.
The Food Hub is going to comprise of local and global vendors with a large art installation by artist Daniel Popper, famous for his sculptures in Tulum and Burning Man festivals.
A plethora of international artists, DJs and local musicians will perform in the Music Arena, along with a Shopping District that has been curated to offer something for everyone, from high-end brands to local gems.
The event will also see an amusement park with activations from the World of Nickelodeon and Diggers Lab, plus a children’s play park, carnival rides and games.
