For some reason, you can't use Circle to Search while in split-screen mode on Pixel phones, even though you can on Samsung phones.
Google is looking to fix that limitation, though. More details can be found https://t.co/sl5KNygzIC — Mishaal Rahman (@MishaalRahman) April 26, 2024
According to a report, Google is currently investigating the issue and is expected to resolve it soon, enabling users to use the feature even when in split-screen mode. Interestingly, a recent report mentioned that the tech company is also developing a feature that will enable users to take partial screenshots of the screen they have selected.
Based on a report from Android Authority (via Mishaal Rahman), the problem is limited to Pixel phones. Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series displays the Circle to Search feature even in split-screen mode.
The individual providing the tip, in the course of their inquiry, initially thought that the issue stemmed from Android's Assist API, which the feature relies on. Nevertheless, it was discovered that this was not the root cause.
Upon further inspection of Pixel's Launcher app in the latest Android 15 Beta 1.2, Rahman discovered a flag that, when enabled, allowed him to activate Circle to Search even in split-screen mode. This finding has led the tipster to suggest that Google may be in the process of addressing the problem that previously prevented Circle to Search from being displayed.
Although the exact release date for the fix remains unknown, there is speculation that it could be included in the upcoming update for Pixel smartphones.
Google's Circle to Search is a visual search tool that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) technology to analyze the information shown on the screen.

Subsequently, it conducts a search on Google to present relevant results. This tool is versatile, allowing users to define a word or phrase, discover the cost of an item of clothing, explore details about a renowned structure, and perform other tasks. Additionally, users can utilize this feature to easily copy a section of text visible on the screen.
