Climber duo Alain Robert and Alexis Landot ascend Burj Khalifa
Renowned French climbers Alain Robert and Alexis Landot recently scaled the “world’s tallest skyscraper” Burj Khalifa for a global cause.
On the eve of COP28, renowned climbers Alain Roberts and Alexis Landot successfully scaled the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
The United Arab Emirates’s bank, Mashreq partnered with French climbers Alain Roberts and Alexis Landot who scaled Burj Khalifa as a part of its “Climb2Change” global initiative.
Alain Robert, famously known as the French Spiderman has previously scaled the Dubai skyscraper in the year 2011. This time, he partnered with his protégé Alexis Landot, also French and the two made the historic dual ascent of Burj Khalifa.
Aged 61, Alain Robert is a seasoned urban climber. He holds a remarkable record of ascending over 120 buildings across the world including the iconic Eiffel Tower and the Sydney Opera House.
On the other hand, Alexis Landot who is reportedly 23 years old is known for his daredevil feat of barefoot climbing the Tour Franklin, a glass skyscraper in Paris, France in just 35 minutes.
The world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa stands at a towering 828 meters height. The extraordinary climb by Alain Roberts and Alexis Landot was part of Mashreq Bank’s “Climb2Change” global initiative which aims at global sustainability efforts and raising awareness of significant climate issues like environmental preservation, waste management, and recycling.
Mashreq is reportedly a sponsor of COP28. The initiative by the bank builds its active participation in COP28 and helps its efforts to drive sustainability and impact.
