Mashable: The British-Pakistani restaurateur who gave Salt Bae a gift has demanded it back after the way he pestered World Cup stars for photos and videos.
Suleman Raza, a British-Pakistani restaurateur known as 'Curry King,' has slammed Salt Bae for allegedly unprofessional and unpleasant behavior at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.
Nusret Gokce, aka Salt Bae, is a well-known Turkish butcher who became an internet sensation in 2017 when a video of his unique seasoning style went viral. After Argentina won the FIFA World Cup, the 39-year-old chef found his way onto the pitch and joined in the celebrations.
Gokce was seen pestering several players, including Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, for photos and to hold their medals. The Turkish chef even got his hands on the coveted World Cup trophy.
Raza had previously met Gokce and presented him with a gift at one of the Turkish chef's restaurants. However, in response to Gokce's actions at the FIFA World Cup, Raza chastised Salt Bae and demanded that he return the gift.
As reported by the Sun, sharing a video on Tiktok, Raza said, "Salt Bae, you're a chef and I'm a curry king. I want my gift back. Do you know why? Because you have been so rude and disrespectful to the players. The way you have harassed the families while they were with their families on the pitch. The way you have tried to snatch the trophy from the players."

"You have lost all your respect and fans from all around the world, including me. You know what, you are so desperate and that's why you lost all your respect and that's why I want my gift back. Let me know when and how,” he added.
Following his actions during Argentina's World Cup victory, the Turkish chef is said to have been barred from attending several notable events, including the US Open Cup final.
