KSA’s Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Al-Awwad has issued an order, appointing Executive President of the Radio and Television Authority Dawud Al-Shirayian as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ekhbariya Network Company.
He also appointed Abdul Aziz Al-Fahd, Khalid Madkhali, Muhammad Al-Qahtani, Obaid Al-Rasheed, Jasser Al-Jasser and Saad Al-Jirais as directors of the company, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Earlier this week, as reported by BroadcastPro ME, the minister issued an order converting Al-Ekhbariya channel into a limited liability company to be known as Al-Ekhbariya Network Company, jointly owned by the Radio and Television Authority and the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The minister’s decision aims to develop Al-Ekhbariya Arabic and English channels. He said the move came within the context of the ministry’s initiatives to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030 and enable its various arms to cope with the rapid changes taking place in regional and international media.
