Mashable: Dubai International (DXB) is poised to achieve an extraordinary milestone as it anticipates hosting a record-breaking 88 million passengers in 2024. This projection surpasses the pre-pandemic milestone of 86.4 million international passengers achieved in 2019. Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, shared this ambitious forecast in an interview with a UAE-based Arabic daily.

DXB, renowned as the world's busiest international hub, recently revised its passenger forecast for 2023 from 83.6 million to 85 million. This revision follows the airport's impressive performance in the first half of 2023, welcoming 41.6 million passengers.This figure not only surpassed the first-half 2019 count but also represented a remarkable 49.1% increase from the corresponding period in 2022.

As reported by Khaleej Times, Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, expressed satisfaction with this progress, emphasizing operational excellence and delivering a stellar guest experience. He also highlighted DXB's commitment to ensuring every traveler leaves with a smile.

March emerged as the busiest month this year, accommodating 7.3 million passengers, closely followed by May with 6.9 million guests. The robust demand has persisted into the second half of the year, with a particularly busy summer anticipated as school reopening coincides with the seasonal peak.

Al Joker underlined DXB's capacity, capable of facilitating up to 100 million passengers at present, with ongoing enhancements since 2016 potentially raising this capacity to approximately 120 million travelers. He emphasized DXB's utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance passenger service.

DXB boasts connectivity to 257 destinations across 104 countries, served by over 91 international airlines. The airport's dedication to seamless operations, with its strategic vision, positions it to not only reclaim its pre-pandemic glory but also set new benchmarks for passenger traffic in the coming years.
