Mashable: Dubai has retained the spot for the second year in a row
Dubai has been named the world’s best destination for holidaymakers.
Dubai city in the United Arab Emirates has bagged the first spot on the 2023 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
As per Khaleej Times, Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards were announced on Wednesday and the emirate has retained its No. 1 spot.
On Wednesday, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai shared the news on his official Twitter account.
“Following Sheikh Mohammed’s ambitious D33 agenda, which includes making Dubai a top 3 global tourism destination, the city has retained its #1 spot in the 2023 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards,” the Crown Prince wrote.

“The top ranking by global travellers reflects the vision of the leadership to transform Dubai into the world’s top destination for tourism and business, as embodied by a key goal of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33,” the news outlet quoted Sheikh Hamdan, “Dubai’s diverse tourism attractions and hospitality offerings, combined with its emergence as a leading venue for global events and a magnet for talent and enterprise will continue to reinforce its status as a favourite among global travellers over the next decade.”
Tripadvisor choose the annual awards’ top cities based on the reviews of millions of travellers that were submitted on its official website between November 1, 2021, to October 31, 2022.
As per Tripadvisor, the most popular travel destinations in 2023 includes UAE’s Dubai, Indonesia’s Bali, UK’s London, Italy’s Rome, and France’s Paris. Cancun, Crete, Marrakesh, Dominican Republic, and Istanbul, are also on the list.
