Dubai: Man arrested after his video of reckless stunt in a moving car goes viral

Gravity defying-stunts and cinematic car chases are good only for movies. In real life, it causes risk to the life of the driver alongside putting surrounding vehicles and pedestrians’ safety in jeopardy. If not performed under expert supervision and legal permission, Dubai Police is always ready to remind you about the consequence of flouting traffic rules. In a recent case emerging from the Nad Al Sheba area of the city, a young driver was nabbed by the authorities after videos of him performing dangerous stunts in a moving car went viral on social media.

The Dubai Police has also seized the vehicle involved in the reckless stunts. Footage of the gravity defying trick circulating online, shows the man’s four-wheeler drifting only on two wheels while travelling on a curved path. According to Gulf News, the deputy director of the General Department of Traffic, Brig Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, said the youngster was quickly identified and summoned in front of the authorities.

The unidentified man has reportedly admitted to participating in the reckless driving video. “The young man was boasting of his high ability to drive, thereby threatening his safety and the safety of road users,” said the officer.

Brig Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, has reportedly also issued a statement on community safety, encouraging civilians to take initiative in Dubai Police’s “We are all Police initiative.” He wants people to report all incidents of reckless driving they come across in real-time or social media on the helpline number 901.

The Dubai Police has imposed a fine of Dh50,000 on the vehicle seized in connection to the Nad Al Sheba area case.
