Making room for another world’s largest, Dubai has opened its door to launch the world’s largest padbol sports complex that recently opened in Dubai’s Al Quoz area.

Spread across 10,000-square-foot, the complex — EmiratesPadPro includes seven padbol courts, a cafe, lounge area, shower facilities and adequate parking outside.

The brainchild of UAE residents and avid sports buff Samir and Kabir Khorram and Hussein Kapasi, the game is a fusion sport that combines elements of football, tennis, volleyball, and squash.

The game is played in pairs with four players, with the scoring system the same as that of tennis. A ball, that is smaller and lighter than a football – is served diagonally and the receiving team must return the ball with a minimum of two or a maximum of three touches. The ball bounces on the ground and lateral walls, which gives the game continuity and speed. Using most of the bodies to play, including their feet, head, chest and legs, the teams score to win.

With the launch of the complex in the UAE, EmiratesPadPro aims to promote sports and host international and national tournaments, league matches, as well as training and children’s camps.
