Mashable: RM Sotheby's, a renowned auction house, recently held its inaugural auction in Dubai, achieving an impressive total of $17 million (Dh62 million) in sales.

Dubai has emerged as a premier destination for those who are seeking to acquire exclusive art pieces, luxury cars, exquisite timepieces, and other opulent items. Consequently, numerous auction houses have opted to showcase their most exceptional offerings in Dubai, aiming to secure the most favorable prices.

RM Sotheby's, a renowned auction house, recently held its inaugural auction in Dubai, achieving an impressive total of $17 million (Dh62 million) in sales. Notably, the highlight of the event was the sale of the Rolex Daytona UAE watch, which fetched a staggering $300,000 (Dh1.1 million), reports Khaleej Times.

Crafted around 1978, this remarkable timepiece showcases the emblem of the United Arab Emirates and bears the Arabic signature of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, as well as the Ruler of Dubai. It is worth mentioning that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum held the position of Minister of Defence during the time of the watch's creation.

In addition to the high-end timepiece, the auction observed the sale of three high-performance cars, each fetching over Dh10 million. The most sought-after vehicle was the 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR, one of a limited edition of three, which was purchased for $3.38 million (Dh12.4 million).

Equipped with a 5.0 V-8 engine generating an impressive 1,160 horsepower, this supercar had a mere 993 kilometers on its odometer.

The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss emerged as the second highest seller, fetching an impressive $3.211 million (Dh11.784 million), setting yet another record-breaking auction price for this model.

Following closely behind, the 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé secured its place among the top three sellers in Dubai. This remarkable vehicle, touted as the most powerful Aston Martin ever manufactured, was acquired for a substantial sum of $3.07 million (Dh11.266 million).

The 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Coupé, one of the rarest supercars, was sold for $2.142 million (Dh7.86 million), while the 2022 Ferrari 812 Competizione, one of only 999 produced, fetched $1.467 million (Dh5.383 million), surpassing its expected selling price.
