In a new move, Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Police have brought good news for young and bright students of Dubai as the departments announce ‘Studies and Sports’ –an initiative to provide quality education.
Launched by Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Police, the new initiative focuses on providing Dubai’s brightest young sports talents with quality education at Dubai Police’s Hemaya Schools, and at the same time, it would increase their training hours adhering to international standards.
Announcing the launch of the initiative on Tuesday, the Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Police signed the official Memorandum of Understanding between the two departments.
The new initiative will begin from 2021-2022 sports and academic year in September which will adopt a flexible ‘Studies and Sports’ system. This will enable students to train at Hemaya Schools in the morning, in addition to evening training sessions at their clubs.
Thanks to this flexible system, it will lead to an 83 percent increase in the annual training sessions – from 192 to 240 - for every student, whereas their annual training hours will increase by 96 percent, from 352 hours to 472 hours.
The initiative aims at gathering the best young sports talents, aged 12 to 16, from Dubai’s clubs, to start their studies with Hemaya Schools from the new academic year in September with the first batch of students. The first batch is said to start with football.
Hemaya Schools is an initiative by Dubai Police, launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), to provide free quality education to the children of Dubai Police employees.
