Dubai weather relief: Sheikh Hamdan announces early payment of salaries; Directs series of initiatives for flood-affected residents

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai has directed support and help towards flood-affected communities in Dubai in the wake of heavy rains that hit the county on Tuesday, April 16.

Guided by the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Crown Prince called on developers and management companies to offer alternative housing, food, and security free of charge to residents affected by the unprecedented weather.

According to the Khaleej Times, the UAE leader directed the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) to offer support and help to all those affected to mitigate the impact of the weather crisis.

Sheikh Hamdan also announced over the weekend, the early payment of salaries to government employees in the UAE city. The salaries have been directed to be paid on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, to Dubai government employees, Military personnel and military retirees, as well as Social assistance holders who are affiliated with the Dubai government.

Taking to the microblogging platform X/ Twitter, the Dubai leader also thanked all those who contributed to maintaining safety in this difficult time. He shared a heartwarming video, which showcased the heroic efforts of authorities and residents across the city.

Sheikh Hamdan also said that he would personally monitor the progress of the response measures. He also assured that on-ground teams will provide support to all citizens and residents in the city.

Meanwhile, the UAE experienced the heaviest rainfall event in the past 75 years. All seven emirates struggled with unprecedented weather conditions.
