E-learning platform, The Day, offers a free trial to Middle Eastern educators to advance media literacy skills. This week marks Global Media and Information Literacy Week, and school leaders can register online to access all of The Day’s current affairs content, which includes, ready-to-use presentation slides, news articles structured to promote inquiry-led learning, activity ideas, special reports, quizzes, briefings, and much more.

The Day aims to make media literacy accessible to all students, of all ages, abilities and from all parts of the world. Resources are available in five differentiated reading levels and translated articles are available in four different languages, soon to include Arabic. The Day also publishes daily global news for International schools, complete with lesson activities.

The resources provided by The Day are all curriculum-driven, including IB and National Curriculum, and valued by many Middle-Eastern education institutions. Members include GEMS Dubai American Academy, Robert College of Istanbul, and Asamiah International School (AIS), Jordan.

CEO and Editor of The Day, Richard Addis says: “Media is a vital part of life. The media helps us stay connected with each other and with events around the world but, the media can also transform how we think. Thus, educators must equip students with media literacy skills.”

The Day's resources empower students with the confidence to ask questions about important world issues and express their own opinions through an inquiry-led learning approach. Readers learn how to judge different sources of information and gain valuable insights into people’s experiences around the globe.
