Those who are able to spot the crescent moon with the naked eye or through binoculars are requested to inform the nearest court. Witnesses are also urged to register their testimony at the court or seek assistance from the nearest center to facilitate the process.

The sighting of the moon holds significant importance in Islamic countries, including the UAE, where it marks the anticipation of a public holiday for Dhu Al Hijjah. Depending on the moon-sighting results, residents in the Emirates could enjoy a break of four to five days. An official announcement regarding the holiday is expected soon.
