Elon Musk, who isn't afraid to speak what's on mind responded with three words that I believe sum up what practically everyone is thinking about Web 3.0.
Twitter said on Thursday that users who spend $3 per month for Twitter Blue will be able to convert their profile image to a non-fungible token (NFT). The form of your photo would shift from a circle to a hexagon, indicating that you had linked an NFT wallet and not merely uploaded some odd pixelated photo of a monkey. Elon Musk, who isn't afraid to speak what's on mind responded with three words that I believe sum up what practically everyone is thinking about Web 3.0: "This is annoying."
Musk didn't simply criticize Twitter's new "feature," to be fair.
He went on to say, "Twitter is wasting technical resources on this nonsense while crypto fraudsters are throwing a spambot block party on every thread!" He's alluding to the fact that practically every tweet from a user with more than 10,000 followers receives a spam bot reply offering Bitcoin riches. It is inconvenient without a doubt.
According to reports, Musk is arguing that instead of improving their goods, Twitter is wasting money, time, and energy pursuing the next big thing. Sure, some of them might say that the shiny new thing is better—in this case, the blockchain and all things crypto. In some cases, this may be the case.
Musk's remark is significant because it reveals the fundamental issue with everything Web3. Yes, we understand that Web3 covers blockchain technology, including NFTs and Bitcoin, but they are not identical. Musk is an outspoken supporter of Bitcoin, but not of Web3. The issue is that a group of highly brilliant individuals with a lot of money is racing after a shiny new item instead of improving what they've previously offered to customers.
Fraudsters are increasingly portraying well-known personalities, such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, on social media sites like Twitter, offering bitcoin riches and freebies.
Some Twitter users backed Musk's comments, while others criticized him for doing the same thing, and Tesla engineers were charged with taking doge currency payments. Let's see how many people will opt for this Twitter’s NFT feature.
