According to New World Wealth, a South African company that monitors the travel and spending habits of the wealthy around the world, the number of HNWIs in Dubai increased by 3.8 per cent from 54,000 to 67,900 in June 2021.
This made the emirate the wealthiest city in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) and the 29th richest city in the entire globe, according to New World Wealth.

The number of millionaires in Dubai is rising swiftly and the city is predicted to rank among the top 20 wealthiest by 2030, as predicted by New World Wealth’s head of research, Andrew Amoils.
Amoils stated, “Dubai currently ranks 23rd globally and is already home to 67,900 millionaires, 202 centi-millionaires (those with net assets of $100 million or more), and 13 billionaires.” He further added that the emirate's economy is the primary factor in this surge in numbers.
The study claimed that "affluent parts of Dubai" such as Emirates Hills, Jumeirah Golf Estates, and Palm Jumeirah are frequent residences of the ultra-rich.
A hub for family businesses and extremely wealthy people was recently launched by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to help them with legacy and succession planning. The center will offer support services for private wealth, such as advisory and concierge services, education and training, upscale networking, and assistance with dispute resolution.
Additionally, New Globe Wealth revealed in June of this year that the UAE expected to surpass nations like the US and UK in terms of the wealthiest people in the world by attracting the highest net inflows of billionaires globally in 2022.
