Mashable: Google is reportedly developing an editing function within the Messages application. Evidence of the same was discovered in the code of the Google Messages app, as observed by AssembleDebug on TheSpAndroid.

This feature seems to be concealed within certain settings in the most recent beta version.

Upon activation, users can edit messages by long-pressing on the desired message. Subsequently, a pencil icon will appear, allowing access to a text editing box labeled "Editing message" when tapped.

It seems that this feature will enable users to modify messages that were sent in the past 30 minutes. Additionally, users will supposedly have access to the editing history of the modified message.

As per AssembleDebug's speculation, it is anticipated that Google might introduce the feature to edit sent texts in Google Messages on the app's beta channel either by the conclusion of February or in the beginning of the upcoming month.

Meanwhile, Google has initiated the rollout of its AI service, Gemini AI (formerly known as Bard), to a broader selection of countries across iOS and Android platforms.

Jack Krawczyk, the leader of the Gemini product, has made an important announcement regarding X. He has informed that the English version of Gemini AI is now being gradually introduced to other countries. This can be done either through a dedicated application for Android users or by using a toggle feature within the Google app on iOS. Furthermore, Krawczyk has mentioned that this implementation will continue in the upcoming days.

In his statement, Krawczyk has explained that the rollout of Android is being done by activating Google Assistant, which will prompt users to opt-in.

Efforts are being made to clearly distinguish between Assistant features that are still in development and those that are currently available. Additionally, steps are being taken to minimize the gap between the two.
