The four-day World Police Summit, which began on March 14 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo 2020 Dubai, is designed to ensure the Emirate remains the safest city in the world.
At the World Police Summit, Dubai Police demonstrated a self-driving patrol car, as well as drones to monitor the roads and the air.
According to Zawya, the four-day World Police Summit, which began on March 14 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo 2020 Dubai, is designed to keep the Emirate of Dubai the safest city in the world.
In an effort to make cities safer, governments and private organizations from the United Arab Emirates and other countries are displaying their best technologies.
DRONES
Demonstrating the self-monitored platform, dubbed the "Drone Box," the Dubai Police Department is using it to shorten the police response time from 4.4 minutes to only one minute.
Pre-programmed missions or the Dubai map can be selected by the operator, and the drone will automatically take off and land at the requested area and begin sharing its view of that location with the operator once it arrives.
A drone can be incorporated into a system and sent to a specific place in the event of an alert or alarm. The operator in the control room can then monitor a live feed of the drone's location to get a sense of the situation on the ground.
These drones can also be used to inspect industrial locations, such as nuclear power plants and oil and gas installations, to determine the level of radiation.
Self-recharging capabilities ensure that the drone will be ready for the next mission when it returns to the platform. The drone was developed by Azur Drones in France and can fly at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.
AUTONOMOUS PATROL VEHICLES
The Dubai Police and Micropolis Robotics have joined forces to demonstrate autonomous vehicles that might be used to patrol the roads and neighborhoods of the city.
The M01 self-driving vehicle is fitted with a drone, which will be used to monitor speed restrictions and other security measures on the roads.
It can also scan people's faces using several cameras and transmit the results to the appropriate authorities.
