The push for tech-savvy education is a result of Huawei joining hands with UAE's government.

Following the rise of virtual classrooms and online education apps during the lockdown, governments across the globe realised the scope of integrating technology in the field of education, even after schools opened their gates to students in the post-pandemic era. The UAE, with its ability to provide consistent internet connectivity, ensured that children could make the most of video conferencing and other communication platforms meant to facilitate education.

As life gets back on track and schools have reopened across the Emirates, authorities are using smart buses, intelligent surveillance networks and high-tech gadgets in classrooms, to protect children, while following social distancing norms. After rolling out suites to help businesses in the Middle East create hybrid workplaces in the new normal, Chinese tech giant Huawei is now set to empower educational institutions with high speed WiFi and unified platforms.

As part of a deal with the Emirati ministry of education, Huawei has announced plans to speed up WiFi connections at 400 schools, which are covered under a project called MoE School Campus. This acceleration to be achieved by upgrading the infrastructure for WiFi at schools, is further expected to facilitate seamless integration of AI and augmented reality, among other solutions, into the education system.

After ensuring superfast data, Huawei will deploy software recognition, through which it can identify which websites or digital tools the students are using, and help schools control access to the required solutions. To make sure the campus project is able to ensure availability of software to children, the firm will also set up a centralised LAN network, that'll connect all 400 schools.

As the ministry of education gets to manage the cluster of schools through a unified platform, uninterrupted WiFi allows teachers to conduct online classes with HD clarity. Innovations like smart white boards and e-schoolbags can also be tested at schools, thanks to the high speed connection, which can seamlessly be upgraded to next generation Wifi.
