The 16th edition of the Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) is set to take place in Karachi Expo Centre from December 30th till the 3rd of January.

The event will run for 11 hours each day, starting at 10 am, and closing by 9 pm. Over 330 exhibits will be set up at the five-day 16th Karachi International Book Fair, according to the Chairman of the Publishers and Booksellers Association Pakistan, Aziz Khalid.

The KIBF will feature 136 top Pakistani publishers and bookstores, as well as 40 exhibitors from 17 countries, according to the organizing committee. The book fair will be inaugurated by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah.

During a conference, Aziz Khalid said that the organizers were expecting around 400,000 visitors during the book fair event.

He continued by saying, “The KIBF brings together publishing and distribution houses, domestic and international publishers, booksellers, librarians, and institutional customers onto a single platform. The publishers from Iran, India, Turkey, Singapore, China, Malaysia, England, the UAE, and other countries will be attending the event.”

The most recent edition would be notable and distinct, as efforts were made to build successful working partnerships with significant international book fairs, resulting in an exchange of professional skills for highlighting the relevance of book fairs at both the national and international levels, according to Khalid.

The book fair is aiming to welcome people from all walks of life including students, book worms, lecturers, librarians, writers, poets, etc.

During the fair, prominent writers will have their books launched and released, and children will be allowed to compete in drawing, recitation, speaking, and quiz competitions.
