(Web Desk) - People used to fantasise about flying cars in science fiction movies and wish that one day this car would be a reality.

But this is no longer a fiction, Sam Bousfield makes this unimaginable dream a concrete reality.

The Samson Sky's ‘Switchblade’ is not just a striking sports car but also a flying car with wings and a horizontal stabiliser that emerge like a pocket knife.

Driving hundreds of feet above the ground significantly changes the perspective of what is frequently an uninteresting scene for drivers on the ground. Not to mention that you're never truly halted in a flying car.

But this car has not just a boring design but a comfortable and luxurious interior and exterior.

"There's this idea out there in society that to get a flying car, it has to be a mediocre car, a mediocre plane, or both, and we just disagree with that idea. Riding the Switchblade offers much more than just a means of transportation.” Bousfield stated.

The Switchblade successfully completed its inaugural flight near Moses Lake, Washington, last month, following 14 years of design and testing. For around six minutes, the three-wheeled vehicle was 500 feet above the Grant County Airport.

A driver's licence is sufficient to drive the Switchblade on land, but you would need a private pilot certificate.

A certificate can be obtained for between $7,000 and $8,500 if you train in your own aircraft or between $11,000 and $13,000 if you rent one, according to Samson Sky.

The business intends to offer liaisons to assist with insurance-related issues.

Samson's Sky says at least 2,300 bookings have been made by to test the Switchblade. Bousfield stated that three working prototypes will be sent to various U.S. towns pending testing so that those with reservations can see them.

According to Bousfield, reservations have already been made from more than 57 countries.
 
Even though everything sounds fantastic, Bousfield stated that it will take some time for customers to be able to purchase a Switchblade car. Samson Sky won't go into mass production for at least two years.
