The service called Labbeh has been upgraded with an intercom feature for people of determination.
Public safety and crime fighting in the UAE are experiencing a transformation thanks to AI and remote connectivity, among other innovative solutions playing a significant role in ensuring quick response by authorities as well as follow ups by residents. With the vision of robots patroling the streets in the near future, ambitious smart city Dubai has set up smart police stations, where people can connect with personnel over video conferencing, and can monitor the progress of their case.
Beyond filing complaints via digital portals, residents of Dubai will soon be able to attend court proceedings online, as virtual courtrooms have already been opened up for property disputes. But in order to make sure that people of determination are able to interact with authorities, for swift resolution of their issues from any location, Dubai Police have upgraded their Labbeh service for single click access to video calls.
The device designed for contacting cops via intercom even without stepping out of the car, promises to ensure safety on the road for people with all kinds of impairments, to scale up inclusion in the megacity. Currently available for three police stations in the city, the service is one of several initiatives aimed at empowering people of determination, with a smart lifestyle in the futuristic city.
Other than police stations where people can register cases and get updates remotely, Dubai's authorities have strengthened road safety via sensors that send out alerts to rescue teams whenever a car crash takes place. The personnel are also equipped with information on the location and damage caused by the accident, in order to be prepared for an effective response, that can save lives.
Smart glasses and high-tech canes with sensors to show the way have also been designed in the Middle East, to assist visually impaired people, as innovation takes flight. For people with restricted movement, students in the UAE even came up with a shopping cart that has a robotic arm to reach objects.
