Salt Bae's annoying World Cup actions resulted in a US Open Cup ban for him.

The most prestigious and oldest soccer competition in America has decided to ban the internet sensation chef Salt Bae, real name Nusret Gökçe.

Taking it to Twitter, the US Open Cup wrote, "Salt Bae is hereby banned from the 2023 @opencup Final."

It comes after the chef caused a fuss at the World Cup final.

The Turkish salt sprinkler managed to get onto the field while players were spotted celebrating with their families as Argentina went on its celebration lap following a 4-2 victory over France.

He also approached the star of the match, Lionel Messi, for a quick picture.

The Turkish chef, who was sporting his signature sunglasses, gave Messi a tap on the shoulder. Messi briefly glanced around, but he was having none of it and shook him off.

The football player was being constantly bombarded with photo requests as the celebrations picked up; at that point, it would have been ideal to leave.

Not understanding the hint, Salt Bae persisted in bothering Messi and eventually succeeded in getting a photo with him. He then shared the photo with his 49.8 million Instagram followers.

The 39-year-old also posed alongside other other team players, including Alexis MacAllister, Paulo Dybala, Nicolas Otamendi, Angel di Maria, and Leandro Paredes. He even touched the stunning £17.7 million (AUD $31.8m or USD $21.3m) (18-carat gold) World Cup trophy.

Only a "select few," including former champions and heads of state, are allowed to touch the trophy, according to the FIFA World Cup.

Salt Bae’s act left many football fans outraged.
