The project is a joint effort between the Emirates Schools Establishment and local firm Yahsat.

Satellites have completely transformed the way people communicate, after they elevated the level of broadcasting information as well as visuals, in order to enhance the way news was relayed across the globe, and to scale up the quality of entertainment accessible for households in any part of the planet. Mechanical moons built in the UAE are now being deployed into Earth's orbit for purposes of strengthening security, studying climate change and clicking accurate images from space, as other Middle Eastern countries are joining the Emirates with smaller satellites.

In addition to sophisticated devices that relay images back to Earth for different purposes including disaster management and city planning, smaller cubesats are also being sent out for helping students who wish to test their software designed to power spacetech in the near future. At a time when low orbit satellites are being pitched as a backup in case optical fibre cables lose connectivity, Emirati firm Yahsat has entered a collaboration to make sure that students in remote areas of the country are able to enter the digital realm thanks to internet beamed by mechanical moons.

Designed for ensuring that affordable data connections reach young talent living away from futuristic urban ecosystems of the UAE, the initiative has already helped several students in accessing remote learning despite limitations posed by their locations. Now the joint effort of Yahsat and the Emirates Schools Establishment, is aiming at connecting hundreds of students through this cosmic network.

The stellar project comes just years after Elon Musk's SpaceX started sending out smaller satellites to form a mechanical constellation above Earth, which will be able to beam high-speed internet, to any corner of the planet. Buoyed by the initial success of this initiative, the schools establishment is now looking forward to bringing other organisations in the UAE on board, for launching similar projects.

Recently the country also launched nano satellites as part of a cross-border cosmic collaboration with its neighbour Bahrain.
