Mashable: Al-Hilal confirms the signing of Bono
Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal has confirmed the signing of Moroccan World Cup hero Yassine Bounou.
Yassine Bounou has left the Spanish outfit Sevilla to join the Saudi football club Al-Hilal.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup hero of Morocco has signed a three-year deal with the Gulf side in the summer transfer window.
After a successful career in Spain, Morocco goalkeeper, Yassine ‘Bono’ Bounou has finally completed his move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.
The Gulf side, days after announcing the signing of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar revealed the signing of Bono, continuing to add big-name players to the Saudi capital.
On Friday, August 18, 2023, Al-Hilal confirmed the signing of Yassine Bounou. The Saudi Arabian giants took to their official X (formerly Twitter) account and announced the arrival of Bono.
The 32-year-old star goalkeeper will play for the Saudi club till 2026. The Moroccan star has left Sevilla reportedly for £17.9m.
Yassine Bounou’s signing confirmation comes days after the Riyadh club announced one of the game’s biggest stars, Neymar as their new player.
Neymar joined the Saudi side on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
Throughout his career, Bono has played for the likes of Atletico Madrid and Giron. The goalkeeper joined Sevilla permanently in the year 2020 and played a total of 142 games for the club. He played his last game in the Super Cup for Sevilla in the loss to Manchester City on Wednesday.
Yassine Bounou also helped Morocco in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar with his impressive skills as they became the first-ever African team to reach the semis.
